Start-up of new or rebuilt engines.

Workshop Instructions

1. Clean radiator, replace cooling hoses and thermostat

2. Ventilate cooling system carefully, open heater

3. Check engine setting: valve clearance. SI engine: carburettor or injection system and ignition CI engine: injection nozzles, start of delivery, rate of injection

4. Adjust correct mixing ratio of antifreeze and corrosion inhibitor (following the vehicle manufacturer's instructions)

5. Test run: short-time warm-up at increased idling speed

6. Re-check engine setting and re-tighten cylinderhead, if necessary

7. Check engine for leaks, check oil and cooling water levels
